Sun Rose 03:43
Sun rose and the hollows of our hands were open wide Rising, Falling The Great Power’s alive Falling ‘cross the sky Ohhh Ohhh Ohhh Sun Rose

Citizen 03:30
Wasted youth and a wasted life on the good Earth to be found I'm not one to pass the time 'til I'm face-up in the ground I'm a citizen of this world you know We don't got very far to go - you can always go far to be found Cuz these days the eyes of God are all around They're sending clarion calls from the wild space land We just imagine we're the only ones who hear But we're citizens of this world you know We don't got very far to go - but we can go far when we're found These days the eyes of God, they're all around Alright you can always go far to be found Well these days the eyes of God are all around all around all around all around the town all around all around the town

In the city of men fallen from favor Just behind the fence, divided, fruits of their labor Pedlar’s parish, county affairs They’re taking stock of every one there Bought a gray horse and painted him black Any day they’ll start their attacks on you (This is you and your neighbors) Wild things grow, but does anybody know When blood hits the floor Does spirit turn to gold? Well, obviously... Super racehorse, jumping the fence Kicks the casket meant for the press Got a lifetime of bullshit and work Got a lot of time for doing the jerk on you I am your neighbor Fallen from favor Yes, yes, I am your neighbor

I could withstand the temptations of a Jezebel I could stop my ears from the cries of the sirens in the Dardanelles Mm hmm We pass the time like incense and wine, entwined eternally We’ll grow old like Darby and Joan The kids upon our knee Mm hmm With the help of my woman's love Want to I want to, I do We should take time to make time I want to (History’s a dream) History’s a dream you will awake from without me The mystery clear at last in the light of the darkest night at sea With the help of my woman's love I want to I do We should take time to make time

Ate a leftover steak for breakfast Watching the sun go down Been lying awake til dawn now I’m not ready to face that I’m not ready to face something today And I wish I was high Brighter than nothing Smarter than nobody And I’m wasting away And I think of the things that matter And I think of the things that don’t Whatever, it is no matter I hate feeling the way I feel I hate feeling the way I feel today And I wish I was high Brighter than nothing Smarter than nobody and I’m wasting away And I see myself with the headphones on I’m listening to Wake of the Flood I’m listening to Wake of the Flood and I’m high Brighter than nothing Smarter than nobody And I’m wasting away

Goin’ back Into the dirt Goin’ home to where the good folks go Under the cross-eyed moon On the cross I moan, “Will you be home soon?” Into the dirt Where all good folks go Where I once belonged Where the good folks all go home The cross-eyed moon Under the cross-eyed moon On the cross I moan, “Will you be home soon?”

Working for the midnight howl I was feeling fearless up to now you can always say it loud, but if you're proud Come up to the searchlight inn 'cause I wouldn't leave it up to them You really gotta take the reins It's up to you, I said again but if it's underground, maybe we'll speed it up spread it all around, 'til all they need is love Running from a failing fire Ash on the forest, burning pyre you really gotta take the reins, it's up to you, I say again (musical interlude - journey to the shore) Said she could find her own way back glad to take along her friends Daylight sending haloes to black, with the landmark ahead standing on the shoreline "I do well in the Winter time, if there's many sights to see - Otherwise, I'm going blind I feel right as the breezes blow, Sun calling out to me - Thinking on the shoreline" "See, Baby, can you see,' she says, "The sea is really being me, Take my heart in your hands - just shine on in every line, shivering through space and time, and we're hanging on to this vine - shimmering on the shoreline"

Can you relate to that wonder? Beyond the eyes, and the words we use to describe The holy night, trapped in a bottle upon the shining sea Which carries us away Should we let it be? One night on Earth With these Pinewood tales Where I stumble And try to remember Where my hearts aligns with my love Warm in their beds, and they’re fast asleep But their eyes are open Their eyes alight Can you relate to that wonder? Can you relate to that wonder? Can you relate to that wonder? To that wonder

about

Mike Hotter Vintage Heads Albany, New York

Room to Land’s songs were developed over the last decade - some inspired by the loss of friends & family members, others by the joys and pressures of marriage and parenthood.
The songs also meditate some on divisions within larger communities and between neighbors - all an attempt to summon the gumption & fortitude we must muster to bridge those gaps.
